High School Student Interview Questions:

  1. Do you feel like your teachers connect with you?
  2. Do you feel like your teachers care about you and your learning (your progress)?
  3. Do your teachers notice when you're absent?
  4. What class are you most successful in, which are you least successful in, and why?
  5. Do you feel like you are successful?
  6. What could you do to be more successful?
  7. What could our school do to make you more successful?
  8. Do you care about you and your progress?
  9. If so, how do you show that?
  10. Are you aware of what you need to do to graduate?
  11. What constitutes cheating? What do you consider cheating?
  12. Do you feel like you are a part of the school? Do you feel like you are connected to the school culture?
  13. What do you think is important?
  14. Do you feel good about yourself when you're at school?
  15. Do you feel like you can be yourself at school?
  16. Can you say no when someone asks you to do something you don't want to do?

  4. How do you feel about tests? What form do you like? Bubbles/multiple choice, fill in the blanks?
  5. What does your teacher do to help you?

Feel Known and Cared For

  1. How do you think your teacher feels about you? How do you know?
  2. Do you feel safe? Everywhere? Why/why not?
  3. How many teachers do you know by name?
  4. How many teachers know your name?
  5. Does the principal know your name?
  6. If you have a problem, is there an adult at school you would like to talk to?

High Expectations
